Well, for me Leia (and Luke) were the obvious choice. And they’re located conveniently close to the top of the sheet, leaving as much fabric for the skirt as possible. 🙂
Yes, may the force be with you!! and remember that a project (at least this is true for me!!) is always better with sleep, no matter how we want not to believe it 🙂
Wow, I agree with Sigrid: the placement of those pattern pieces will be quite a challenge on this fabric (I’ve never sewn with ‘stunt-fabric’ like this myself. if I were to try it, I suspect I would just opt out of such challenges and make a big gathered skirt).
By the way, is this you bodice sloper? In that case I can tell you that those back darts aren’t very deep at all, so don’t worry about that. Although they probably look like this because you’ve adjusted the overall shape of the back piece…
This is my first stunt fabric, as well. I’m not a big prints person either. 🙂 Should be interesting… 🙂
Well, the skirt is going to be a plain gathered rectangle. I’m going to *try* to match across the CB seam/zipper, but that’s about it (and even that won’t be perfect as it’s very far from straight.)
No, it’s the extended version of Simplicity 3965. The back piece was narrower and the dart also narrower, so I kind of went with that and hoped it would work. It took a bit of tweaking, but it seems to be working—not perfect, but hopefully reasonable. 🙂
Sleep is unnecessary! I just stayed up later than I really should have finishing my own Star Wars dress (yes, another one!). Funny that you should choose Luke and Leia for front and center…I chose Darth Vader 😉
Ok, so now not only do I have to live up to your amazing Star Wars dress, I have to live up to TWO? Yeesh! 😉 I wish I could find a Return of the Jedi sheet… that would rock my world. Although I’d still have to put Leia front and centre—preferably in the metal bikini. 😉
I hope my son doesn’t see this or he’ll want to know why he can’t have that fabric!
LOL! I scoured the thrift store for *months* waiting for this 🙂
Choosing how to place the pattern pieces must be interesting. How did you decide who/what got the top center spot?

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
May the (twenty)force be with you!
LOL!

This is true. Rats. 😉

Whoa, that’ll make an interesting top! Can’t wait to see it on you 😉
Can’t wait to have it done! 🙂
awesome! I’ve been waiting to see this!
Me, too! Here’s hoping it works out…
If you are familiar with World of Warcraft, I just ordered some fabric from Spoonflower to make the boys (husband, son) matching Horde Shirts.
Can’t wait to see your finished project. 🙂
I lost three years of my life to WoW. Recovering addict here. Those are going to be awesomely fun shirts. 🙂
I love the perfect Luke/Leia bodice placement- now how about some subtle sequinning on that lite saber???
LMAO!
I cannot believe you are brave enough to cut into that!
Well, I haven’t cut yet… 🙂
My stomach just flip flopped! I can’t wait to see this.
LOL! I can’t wait to wear it (unless it’s a flop, in which case I’ll cry.)
You crack me up! Can’t wait to see it. And who needs sleep anyway?
exactly! 😉
Oooooh! Can’t wait to see this dress.
Me, either. Can I like wiggle my nose and have it be done?
Now what would be the fun in that? 😉
sleep is over-rated when there is a STAR WARS SHEET DRESS to be made! 🙂
I agree! 🙂
OMGOMG I don’t even know what to say I’m so excited to see how this comes out!
Me too! Here’s hoping I didn’t just jinx myself…

Me either!
So now I’m singing “I wonder what she’s doing tonight” by tommy boyce and bobby hart. Do I blame you, or just the title of this post?
