OMG, I can’t begin to tell you how familiar this looks! I could’t guess how many times I have done it. And its variation, sewing ribbing bands twisted. And of course, you have probably carefully trimmed the seams, too. Time to take a deep breath and get out the seam ripper.
Thanks for the commiseration , everyone! Being able to snap the pic and upload it instantly (yay smartphones) and then getting all your awesome comments was terribly therapeutic. I noticed the mistake after clipping the seams but before too much pressing had been done. I hate messing with clipped seams, but on the other hand sewing them back together (right way round) it was like having a notch every half inch… 😉
Oh dear, I’ve done that! I know now to check and double check before I stitch. On the other hand, at least you didn’t serge a big hole in something, which I’ve done too!
Te he he….. I admire that you actually posted a pic of this! If I posted every stupid (*!@*&^ mistake I made, they’d outnumber the successes about 8:1.

Oh thank you for sharing. Like something I would do.
BTW Vader looks awesome.
Oh, this makes me feel so much better about my silly mess ups! Thank you!
Oh no! Haha, at least you figured it out before you attached the skirt?
What I love about sewing is that patience with a seam ripper fixes most everything. 🙂
Head desk?? LOL
Doh! I can never get through a project without making silly mistakes like that. I thought it was just me… thanks for sharing 🙂
d’oh!
Bugger, to put it mildly!! Now I want a light sabre ….. hmmm shall get the kids’ one from the dress ups…. Shh don’t tell them
booooo! looking good though!
WOOOPS.
*winces* That’s been me so many times…you have my deepest sympathies.
The Universe is out to get us! I had a bad date, your dress strap is twisted, where will it end?!? It does make a funny, and Escher-esque, picture.
Well, we’ve all done that- perhaps you just weren’t using the force…….
I have so done this. Take a deep breath…..
Been there, done that and it sucks. Sewing while tired kicks my ass every time: maybe yours too? At least it’s fixable. 🙂
Yup, I did that with a twill vest once.

Glad I’m not alone! 🙂
Late night sewing again?!
I bet you Vionnet did this too, then went on to create those twist strap dresses!
Been there, done that…. 🙂
