Mr. Isis's Shirt. Photographing black sucks.
… he’s wearing it before you even have a chance to put buttons on.
I finished Mr. Isis’s shirt, and realized I have no matched black shirt-type buttons. So it is still lacking in buttons and buttonholes. Although Sewing World, on my way home, has a fabulous selection of thread and zippers (and every gizmo known to seamstress), they have zilch for buttons. Well, there might be a few novelty ones. Nothing shirt-worthy, anyway. But the plan is to trek out to Fabricland for kids’ Hallowe’en costume fabric this weekend, so I should be able to remedy that.
None of which stopped Mr. Isis from throwing it on, tucking it in, and rolling up the sleeves, and wearing it around the house the last several evenings. And he does indeed look a little “Dread Pirate Roberts,” if I do say so myself. 
So yeah, I think this one, at least, is a winner…
You may now begin to place bets on how long it takes me to corral him into letting me photograph him in it.

Wow, you have a place called Sewing World by you? That sounds like Disney World for seamstresses, amazing! Well, except for the no button thing, hmm.
And it’s definitely a good sign that your hubby is loving the shirt already. I think the worst thing is when you spend all this time and energy making something for someone else and you never see them wear/use it. Good luck getting him to photograph in it! 🙂
Hee! It’s a good little shop (fabulous customer service), but focuses mostly on machine-embroidery and quilting. Not exactly the whole sewing world. But conveniently located, so I won’t complain…

omg. I was in love with dread pirates roberts when I was younger! maybe that’s what David should be for halloween 🙂 the shirt is fabulous and a fabulous victory! there’s no better feeling than making something that someone loves!
I think that might just be the best male Hallowe’en costume ever (even better than Captain Jack Sparrow). 😀

Well, there’s plenty of black buttons… just not nine identical ones. Situation has been resolved. Shirt is being worn. Photos pending…
