Last year at this time I managed to pull together a pattern to share. This year, what with moving, I fear that’s been the last thing on my mind. And, frankly, with a lot of the big changes in my life recently I could pretty easily be pretty whiny and down on this birthday. Which wouldn’t be very fun for anyone, least of all me. So let’s focus on the good things.
I have (often) happy, (generally) healthy kids, who despite their loud protests are settling in to their new lives just fine.
I have a man whom I love and who loves me back, and we’ve managed to make our way together for more good years than any of our parents had. Even if he did go and beat Darksiders II last week while I was busy.
I have loving and supporting family on all sides. (Even better now that they’re no longer hundreds of kilometres away.)
I have a head full of ideas, interests, and dreams, even if I can’t quite manage to figure out how to make any of them particularly practical.
And, not to be too maudlin, but I have your support as readers. It’s really, really awesome.
Oh, and Osiris took me across town on the motorcycle to pick up my birthday present:

Many happy returns of the day! Or not, you know, since that would mean moving again. I think you definitely have a lot to be joyful about; that list is a fantastic way to put things in perspective.

Oh man, husbands and gaming. After a few holidays at the in-laws’ house, my husband and I have agreed that us getting an X-box would very probably end in divorce. He’s bad enough on his laptop as it is…
LOL! I guess I should be glad Osiris finished Skyrim back around Christmas time…
The move itself was not so bad… it was the packing and unpacking that were (are) the big deal. 😉

Happy Birthday! I want to say something wonderfully transforming and supportive about changes and things getting better and better, but as usual the words don’t come. It will all be good very soon. The kids will settle in at school, you will get a great job, you will find a great place to live, with a fantastic sewing room. Enjoy your birthday present (I just bought my copy yesterday-love it).

P.S. This is so weird. I turned 32 on 4 September (and decided against blogging about it because I wasn’t really celebrating or feeling like it. It must be one of those ages, despite all the bad press for 30)….
I thought 30 was awesome, actually. Was happy to be out of my 20s. 🙂 I’m turning 32 next March though, so I’ll test your theory. Oh but…..i’ve skewewd my data by knowing…NOOOO science denighed.
I think 32 feels like 30 *for real*, y’know… no fussing and telling yourself it’s just like 29. Hehe.
Cool that we are so exactly the same age! I do feel like there are a lot of birthdays at the beginning of September… I have a theory about it being nine months after New Years’ Eve…
Happy Birthday!!! It’s not so much the day that is important, it’s what you do with the year that follows (or at least that’s what I tell myself). I received my first sewing machine for my 32nd bday, took a sewing class and started my blog just a few months later. It was a really pivotal year in my life, and I wish the same for you!
Thirty-two? You are a baby! LOL! Seriously, I recently read that people are the happiest at age 33, so you are at a great time! I’d love to go back to 32… but since I haven’t figured out how to turn back time, I’ll stick with my life now which is pretty good all in all.
